Pizza dough

  • 1 cup very hot tap water
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 packet or a heavy tbsp dry yeast
  • 2 cups flour (possibly +1/2 cup additional)
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp olive oil

Mix water, 1 tsp sugar, and yeast in bowl and let sit 5 minutes. It should begin bubbling.

In large mixing bowl, mix 2 cups flour, 2 tbsp sugar, and 1 tsp salt.

Stir yeast mixture and pour into flour mixture. Use kneading hooks for two minutes. Add additional flour as needed until the dough is not sticky.

Form dough into ball and remove from mixing bowl. Put olive oil in mixing bowl and roll the dough ball until coated. Cover and leave in bowl to rise. Can be refrigerated while rising and will take a few hours.

Do not punch down dough. Roll out to desired shape. Bake 400 degrees for 20 minutes.
